At HSG we understand just how difficult and demanding the role of being a carer can be. Carers do amazing jobs, often without any financial support or other support from their local community. There is a lack of awareness around what carers are entitled to and with 6,000 people becoming carers every day, we want to make sure that carers are not missing out on the support and knowledge that is available to help them.
One event that we feel is really beneficial to carers is the annual Carers Rights Day. The event ensures that carers are made aware of their rights, where they can go to for help and support and it also raises awareness of the needs of carers.
Carers Rights Day brings organisations across the UK together to support carers and ensure that they know their rights. This year the event takes place on Thursday 21st November and HSG will be fully supporting the event.
We know that many carers struggle with their role but there are lots of resources and support out there to help, you just need to know where to find them.
At our HSG branches we will be hosting a drop-in day on 21st November where we are inviting carers to come in and speak to our professional carers to get advice. We have many years of experience in the care industry and we can help talk about providing care including personal care, medication, showering and meal prep. We can also signpost you to some of the best resources and support groups that are available for carers.
Our friendly team will be on hand on 21 November to answer any questions you have regarding our home care services, if you are thinking about getting some extra support. Our home care services can be provided as frequently as you require, and you can choose the type of support that you want us to help with.
If you need some advice before the event then you can request some care advice here.
