How we support employee development

We believe that to provide the very best care, we need the best people working at HSG and this means giving our people the tools and resources they need to develop their skills and experience. These are some of the tools and development opportunities we provide:

Leadership Academy

HSG has a Leadership Academy programme that provides managers and leaders with the skillset required to be great leaders and to inspire their teams. The programme has been designed to supply leaders with all of the relevant knowledge to successfully manage their team of carers. This includes training on performance management, coaching, leadership and management styles and delegation. The programme helps to ensure that new managers and leaders can make that step up the ladder with all of the support they need.

Comprehensive Induction Training

Our induction training course is designed to meet the Care Certificate/Common Induction Standards, providing new employees with extensive knowledge of the vital requirements of being a carer and the skillset and confidence to deliver high-quality care. Once this course has been completed, new starters are ready to take their first steps in their career at HSG, with ongoing support thereafter to continually progress and develop.

Mentoring

At HSG we have a large number of highly experienced leaders and our mentoring scheme ensures that their experience and skills are shared with other members of staff, passing on their valuable knowledge. Mentoring is a great way to support employees looking to progress their careers, by providing helpful advice and encouragement that gives mentees the confidence and ability to further their careers.

These are just a selection of the practices we have in place at HSG to support employee career progression. If you would like to find out more and look at job opportunities at HSG, visit our vacancy listings page.
